Merci aux amis, donateurs et alliés de l’Afromusée présents le 20 novembre dernier lors de la soirée d’information et de pré lancement de cette naissante institution. Un grand merci à Wines of South Africa pour sa précieuse et inestimable commandite.
La direction a présenté l’équipe qui travaille jour après jour et a fait le point sur les défis et l’avancement des préparatifs du lancement officiel du musée.
Nous avons eu l’honneur d’entendre le discours plein d’encouragement de la Haut-commissaire d’Afrique du Sud au Canada, son Excellence madame Sibongiseni Dlamini-Mntambo. Nous témoignons toute notre gratitude à son Excellence et à la mission diplomatique qu’elle représente d’avoir eu la générosité de commanditer cette chaleureuse réception.
Soulignons également les interventions fort remarquées de Jean-François Leclerc secrétaire du conseil d’administration de l’Afromusée, de la mairesse-élue de l’arrondissement Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Gracia Kasoki-Kathawa, de monsieur Michael Farkas président de la table Ronde du Mois de l’Histoire des Noirs, de la Princesse Juliette Biakeu directrice générale de la Table Montréal-Afrique et du sculpteur Jean Martin, un des premiers grands donateurs de l’Afromusée.
Le discours à la fois pragmatique et poétique de madame Coumba Ngom présidente de la compagnie F nous a tous ému.

Director Guy Mushagalusa Chigoho introduced and thanked his team who have been committed to making this museum a reality. Some challenges were expressed but the team was able to provide an update on their progress and preparations for the official launch of the museum.
We had the honor to hear the encouraging speech of the High Commissioner of South Africa to Canada, Her Excellency Sibongiseni Dlamini-Mntambo. We want to express our gratitude to Her Excellency who took the time to be present with us at this pivotal moment for Afromusée.
We also want to recognize and highlight a few other important figures that were present and gave touching speeches that night. Secretary of the board of directors of the Afromusée, Jean-François Leclerc, the Mayor-elect of the district of Côte-des-Neiges – Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, Gracia Kasoki-Kathawa, the President of the Round Table of the Month of Black History, Mr. Michael Farkas, Princess Juliette Biakeu general manager of the Montreal-Africa Table, and the sculptor Jean-Martin Afromusee's first major donor.
The pragmatic and poetic speech of Mrs. Coumba Ngom, president of company F, moved us all.
