My approach

Artist Kando invites us to a contemporary exploration of the rich heritage of pre-colonial African societies. It reminds us of the complexity and splendor of these cultures, which flourished long before the arrival of the colonizers. The work encourages us to reflect on our own relationship with the past, to celebrate cultural diversity, and to recognize the inestimable value of African heritage. As we delve into these ancient societies, it's important to note that pre-colonial African societies were characterized by a matriarchal structure.
